Biography
Peter Bekhterev was born in the family of an outstanding Russian physiologist Vladimir Mikhailovich Bekhterev .
He graduated from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute . He worked at the Nobel and Lessner factories, at the Highway Administration of the Ministry of Railways , then at the construction of the Petrograd-Rybinsk railway .
Ostechbyuro
From 1921 he worked at Ostechbyuro , participated in the development of military equipment: systems for transporting equipment by means of aviation .
In 1927, he received two patents for parachutes , the distinguishing feature of which were rubber elastic cables to soften the blow to the air after opening the parachute dome.
Repression and death
On September 22, 1937, P.V. Bekhterev was arrested along with many other officers of the Ostechbureau , and on February 23, 1938, was found guilty under articles 58-6, -7, -9, -11 of the RSFSR Criminal Code and sentenced by the on-site session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court The USSR was shot the same day [1] . Supposedly buried in the Levashovskoy wasteland . In 1956, P.V. Bekhterev was rehabilitated.
The wife of P.V. Bekhtereva was also repressed - she was serving a sentence in the MULDA camp of the Gulag [2] .
Family
Children - two daughters and a son. Daughter Natalya Petrovna Bekhtereva (1924-2008) is an outstanding Russian neurophysiologist [2] . The family learned about the shooting of P. V. Bekhtereva only after Stalin’s death , and N. P. Bekhtereva got an opportunity to get acquainted with his case only in 1989 [3] .
