The Western type of text is one of the four main types of New Testament text. The name was entered by Zemler (1725-1791).

Western-Type Witnesses
The main witness of this text is the Code of Beza , family 1 and family 13. The Western type of text is reflected in Old Latin translations, partly Old Syrian translations (Syr s and Syr c ), Tatiana’s Diatessaron, quoted by early Latin Fathers ( Irine Lyons , Tertullian , Cyprian ) .

Western text features
A special feature of this text is the increase, especially in the Acts of the Apostles , the text of which is 8.5% longer.
