Content
Story
Zampano is a traveling circus athlete with a corona number - breaking the chain on the chest.
As an assistant, he buys a teenage girl, Dzhelsomin, from her mother and teaches Dzhelsomin to announce the number and accompany him by playing the drum and trumpet.
Zampano used to solve everything by force. He hits Jelsomine and flirts with other women in front of her.
Once they met a traveling circus and got a job there.
Ropewalker Matto constantly teases Zampano and thus makes him furious. After another ridicule, the strong man rushed at Matto with a knife. Zampano was imprisoned, after which they were both expelled from the circus.
Matto talks to Dzhelsomina and invites her to choose between him, circus and Dzampano. She stays with Zampano.
One day they meet Matto on a back road. Zampano beats the enemy, and it ends with the death of a tightrope walker. Strong sweeps away traces of crime.
Gelsomina hard going through the death of Matto. After a while, Zampano leaves her.
A few years later the strongman returns to this area and learns that Dzhelsomina died soon after his departure.
Creation History
Federico Fellini wrote the screenplay for the film in 1949 , but he was actually able to start shooting only at the end of 1953. Starring Federico Fellini shot his spouse Juliet Mazina , for whom it was the first significant role, as well as Anthony Quinn . The film was a great success.
