Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute is a higher educational institution in Uzbekistan .
It was organized in September 1972 as the Central Asian Medical Pediatric Institute (SAMPI) on the basis of the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of July 23, 1971 , and in accordance with the order of the USSR Ministry of Health No. 226 of March 22, 1988, it was transferred to the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and on the basis of order No. 357 1988, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan was renamed the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute (TashPMI). There are four faculties in TashPMI:
1) pediatric;
2) medical business
3) medical and pedagogical
4) a nurse with higher education
History
It was founded in 1972 under the name Central Asian Medical Pediatric Institute (SAMPI). The material and technical base and the basis of the teaching staff was the pediatric faculty of Tashkent Medical Institute. In 1988, it was transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Uzbek SSR, renamed the Tashkent Medical Pediatric Institute and was the main institution of the republic for the training of pediatric doctors (pediatricians). Over the years, more than 25,000 people graduated. Currently, more than 4,000 students study at the institute, among whom are citizens of the CIS and foreign countries. Training of specialists is carried out in 26 areas of the magistracy and 23 areas of clinical residency. Research, educational and educational work is carried out at the clinic at the institute, as well as in research and scientific and practical centers of the city of Tashkent.
In 2015, a children's heart surgery center was created on the basis of TashPMI (previously it functioned as a department of heart surgery). Cardiocenter is the leading in its direction in Central Asia. Surgeons provide cardiac surgery for children with congenital heart defects (newborns and children under the age of 18).
