History

The village owes its origin to a narrow-gauge railway connecting Vladivostok with the miner Suchan .

Founded in 1885 by immigrants from the central provinces of Russia [2] , named after the military engineer Romanov Dmitry Ivanovich. Two churches were built in the village, the first in 1890 and the new one in 1910. The church school from 1900 to 1907 was single-class, and then - 2-grade. In 1957 the military state farm was formed. Engaged in animal husbandry and crop production. In subsequent years, the farm received steady harvests of grain and vegetables, milk and meat, a kindergarten, school, roads were built in the village. Today, Romanovskoye FSP operates in Romanovka [3] .

In the Soviet years, many military units were stationed in the village: parts of the Pacific Fleet aviation, as well as an engineer battalion of the military unit 10540, a repair battalion of the military unit 60299, the 163rd Naval Infirmary, 543rd Radio Transmission Center.

Transportation

Through the village passes the highway A188 Corner - Nakhodka and the railway line Coal - Nakhodka . The distance to the Bolshoi Kamen is 21 km, to Vladivostok - about 76 km.

Not far from the village there are two abandoned airfields of the Navy - “Romanovka” and “Pier”.

History of Romanovka airfields

The first airfield was built within the village in the mid 30s of the XX century, it was the main airfield of the Pacific Fleet Air Force in Primorye. In 1936, the 109th Heavy Bomber Squadron was deployed on airplanes on TB-1 and TB-3 airplanes, the 16th separate aviation transport detachment and the headquarters of the 125th Torpedo Mine Brigade. In 1938, the brigade was reorganized into the 4th mine-torpedo aviation regiment of the Air Force of the Pacific Fleet to the Aer. Romanovka. Armed with airplanes TB-1 , TB-3 , R-5 , SB , R-5a and KR-6 . In 1940, the 4th MTAP TB-1 and TB-3 bombers were replaced with DB-3 and transferred to the 16th transport detachment. In 1941, DB-3F aircraft began to arrive. Since 1943, the 2nd Mine-Torpedo Aviation Division has been formed at the airfield, with a dislocation: BP and the 4th MTAP (Romanovka airfield), 49th MTAP (Novonezhino airfield), 52nd MTAP (Airfield Sergeevka), 27th y IAP ( Novonezhino airfield). In mid-1945, the 36th MTAP from the 5th Mine-Torpedo Division of the Northern Fleet and the 43rd Fighter Regiment of the Black Sea Fleet, deployed at the Romanovka airfield, were transferred to the division. The regiments were armed with IL-4 , DB-3T aircraft, as well as American A-20G , P-39 and P-40 aircraft .

The division entered into hostilities against Japan on August 8, 1945. September 15, 45. By order of the Supreme Command No 0501, the 2nd MTAD was awarded the honorary title Rananskaya for the difference in the fight against Japan.

In January 1945, the 35th separate long-range bomber squadron was formed at the Sergeyevka airfield, consisting of two B-29 aircraft and one American B-25 aircraft. The purpose of this event is to study and distill heavy B-29 bombers to Moscow, where later in the Design Bureau of A.N. Tupolev, using the method of reverse engineering, design a copy of it - the Tu-4 aircraft. The squadron flew to Romanovka at the beginning of summer, as the Romanovsky airfield had good approaches, while most of the Far Eastern airfields are surrounded by hills. After distillation, the squadron was not disbanded, and in December 1945 it was deployed to the 64th long-range brigade , on Tu-2, Il-4 and Pe-2 airplanes, and relocated to Unashi airfield, and two years later to permanent deployment in the area of Sovetskaya Gavan, on the airfield Mai-Gatka .

Due to the fact that the USSR Navy Air Force had two mine-torpedo divisions with one number (2nd guards. MTAD Air Force Black Sea Fleet and 2nd MTAD Air Force TOF), in order to avoid confusion in the documents 2nd MTAD Air Force THF, on the basis of the Order of the Commander of the Pacific Fleet number 0025 of 12/12/46 was renamed the 3rd mine-torpedo aviation division. At the same time, and for the same reason, the 4th MTAP, which is a part of it, was renamed the 44th MTAP.

In 1952, the flight and technical staff of the 44th and 49th regiments, which were part of the 3rd MTAD, began retraining from piston A-20G and IL-4 to jet torpedo bombers Il-28 and Tu-14. Since the old airfield did not allow the use of Tu-14 and Il-28 jet torpedo bombs , the division and the 44th MTAP were redeployed from the AER. Romanovka, and the 49th MTAP from the Novonezhino airfield to the West Knevichi airfield, where a new concrete strip was built. The Romanovka airfield was occasionally used by transport aviation until the end of the 1950s, and IL-4 towing towers were working from it.

The second airfield " Pier " (a separate article, see the link) began to be built around the middle of the 50s of the 20th century, under the Il-28 front bomber. It was an airfield with concrete pavement and caponier, located 10 km west of the village, on a small peninsula between Suhodol Bay and Maitun Bay (the western shore of the Ussuri Bay, opposite Vladivostok ). The reconnaissance and attack aircraft of the Navy were deployed at the airfield, as well as a regiment of deck aircraft of vertical take-off and landing . The 311st separate naval assault air regiment was disbanded on October 1, 1995, and the airfield ceased to function after that.
