Description

Following the release of nine Gunnm volumes in Ultra Jump magazine, three additional GUNNM volumes appeared: Gaiden, which were published in 1997 but have not been published as a separate book for a long time. Later, the GUNNM: Gaiden manga was fully included in the " luxury " edition of the Gunnm manga.

December 18, 2007 “Legendary Wanderings” came out as a separate book, in two versions: the simple 銃 夢 外 伝 ( ISBN 978-4-08-877356-8 ) and the collectible 銃 夢 外 伝 フ ィ ギ ュ ア 付 特 版 版 ( ISBN 978-4-08- 908061-0 ). The cover shows a cowboy- dressed Koyomi participating in the gathering of surviving Bar Jack Army members from the Bashaku Ondo chapter.

In addition to the book, the collection edition includes a Gali doll 13 centimeters high and a set of weapons that she used - glaive - balisong and wrist blades [1] .

In the manga there are both old Gunnm characters, and a number of new ones.

Gunnm Characters

The main character of Gunnm, the cyborg girl Gali ( ガ リ ィ Gary:) , who lost her memory in Gunnm: Gaiden appears in several guises: firstly, as a motorbike player who recently completed his career; secondly, as a retired bounty hunter with a still valid license; finally, Gali is an agent of GIB [2] , because once she was offered either to die without medical assistance, or to join this organization. In addition to her, the following characters are present in the manga:

  • Daisuke Ido ( イ ド ダ イ ス ケ Ido Daisuke ) is a former Salem citizen who escaped “treatment” at the MIB [3] . During the flight, he grabbed his black fluffy cat named Gali. Ido was completely unsuitable for free life, and therefore things are not going well with him: not finding a job, he went to headhunters. In the end, the hunter turned out to be rather mediocre. The girl with whom Ido lives constantly grumbles and considers him a parasite and a loser.
  • Gonzu ( ゴ ン ズ Gonzu ) is a friend of Ido, who was once saved by him from death. Former cyber veterinarian and regular at Kansas Bar. He likes to drink, often attached to the bottle, which he always carries with him.
  • Bigott Eisenburg ( ビ ゴ ッ ト ・ ア イ ゼ ン バ ー グ Bigotto Aizenba: gu ) is the head of the GIB [2] , who invited Gali to become an agent. For a long time he personally performed the duties of the Gali operator, on his remote control there was a button, by pressing of which he could plunge Gali into pain shock in case of disobedience. Using the monitor, he monitored everything that Gali saw and heard, and also received information from the unmanned aerial vehicle “Gabriel” [4] , controlled from the same remote control.

Holly Night Characters

  • Gali 's cat is Ido's cat, which he took with him when he fled from Salem. Black and with a bell on his neck.
  • Dana is the girl Ido lives with. Almost constantly dissatisfied with him, calls him a parasite and a loser, but does not drive him away.
  • Karol is a girl who was saved by Ido from a criminal and who lost her memory from the shock.
  • Gauss is a cyber doctor and owner of a cyborg repair clinic. Familiar to Gonzu, to whom Ido was recommended.
  • Denkinto , a former Salem citizen, has now opened a clinic to replace cybernetic limbs with live ones by cloning. This clinic is very popular among women who want to regain the human body.

Supersonic Fingers Characters

  • “Supersonic fingers” is a particularly dangerous criminal. A cyborg having a banned firing implant called "Ultrasonic Fingers." He managed to escape the attention of Factories [5] , carefully monitoring the ban on firearms. Moreover, among others, he killed several bounty hunters, thereby committing a crime of “category A” [6] and again remained unidentified. However, the Factories awarded a reward of 600,000 for the head of that unknown criminal.
  • "Nose" - a private detective who undertook to investigate the attempt on Gali.
  • Valrom is an informant who also explores the assassination attempt on Gali.

Homecoming Characters

  • Train Guard No. 54 is a hired guard of a train belonging to Salem. Like all mercenaries on the train, it has the right to carry firearms, and explosives are attached to its body armor just below the neck in case of an attempt to escape with the weapon.
  • Deck Man ( Japanese デ ッ キ マ ン Dekki Man ) No. 50 - a robot with a non-human body and a living human brain, which has a depressed consciousness. Belongs to Salem and officially represents him below. As a result of the failure (due to an accidental bullet during an attack on a train), human consciousness partially returned to it.

Bashaku Ondo Characters

  • Editor -in- Chief - Screwhead Times Editor -in-Chief
  • Geriperi is an old eccentric cyborg living with his dog named Chavez, in a shack by the river, near Farm No. 3, and cooking insect soup, which he calls "super-nutritious." He does not talk about his past, but masterfully owns a camera and knows how to repair photo equipment. In addition, he served in the Bar Jack Army in the past.
  • Akins (Eakins) - the head of one of the Farms owned by Salem. Leading a double life, in one of which he is the law-abiding head of Farm No. 3, completely subordinate to the robots officially representing Salem, and in another robs on the high road at the head of a small gang consisting of several residents of the Farm who believe that there is nothing wrong with robbing strangers . He loves to justify his actions by robbing in the name of the good and prosperity of his Farm (silent about his share of production), and justifies death and murder in the same way. In connection with his double life, he does not at all look like ordinary bandits who try to look more terrible and more terrible, but look in accordance with their main official life - like a welcoming smiling manager, with the habit of behaving as if trying to sell something.

Scene and volume list

Since Gunnm: Gaiden consists of Gunnm storylines, each story is connected to others through the story of the main manga.

Story 1: Holly Night (Holy Night) [7]
Background to Ido: The bounty hunter Ido, along with the cat Gali, left the City of Heaven two years ago. He decorates the Christmas tree and listens to the grumbling of Dana, with whom he lives. Dana, like all residents of the lower city, has never heard of Christmas , does not believe the stories of Ido and considers him a parasite and a loser. Decorating the tree, he goes for a walk (and for one to hunt). During the hunt, he misses the criminal, but saves the girl. And then, having discovered that she was in a state of shock and was trembling, taking pity, she brought her to herself. There is no data, but she soon appears and, according to Murphy’s law, finds Ido and the girl in an ambiguous situation. Having arranged the scene, she expels Ido, the girl and the cat, and throws the tree out afterwards. Ido is trying to find out the address of the girl, but she suffered amnesia from the shock. Having learned this news shocking in his situation, Ido buys hot cocoa in her street stall and, reflecting on the situation, gives her the name Carol - after the name of the Christmas carols called “carol”. To encourage himself with optimism, he shares with her his dream of opening his own clinic. At this moment, it begins to snow, which Ido has never seen - not only when he was a citizen of Salem, but also for the entire time he was in the lower city. Ido looks dumbfounded at the snow, and Karol begins to dance with Gali's cat. Suddenly, Gonza calls out to them, who recognized Ido and invites the whole company. While eating, Gonzu remarks that Ido turned out to be a rather mediocre bounty hunter , and that it would be better for him to return to the profession of a doctor.
Story 2: Supersonic Fingers [7]
Events between 4 and 5 volumes of the original manga: In one of the bars, fans are broadcasting the last match of the invincible motorball champion Dzyasyugan (ジ ャ シ ュ ガ ン), against five players, one of whom is Gali. The match ends with the accident and the death of Dzyasyugan - he has an attack in the midst of a raging fire, and he burns alive. Some fans consider Gali guilty of this tragic ending. In the morning, Gali goes to the roof to practice and gets a bullet in the head. The hit is indirect, and it survives, and the bounty hunters begin the pursuit of the shooter.
Story 3: Homecoming / Hometown (Hometown)
Events that occurred between chapters 1 and 2 of volume 6 of the manga: One of the transport convoys carrying raw materials for the factories was attacked. Only two survived wounded security guards and one of the Factory robots survived, having a body in the form of a cylinder with folding limbs and a human brain, some of whose functions, including the will, are suppressed. During the battle, the robot was hit, and something broke down from it, from which the human consciousness returned. The former biorobot went in search of water for the wounded, and Gali, who agreed to become a forced [8] agent of Salem, and not used to perceiving the Factory robots as creatures with a human brain [9] , received an order to destroy him.
Story 4: Bashaku Ondo
Events that happened shortly after 2 volumes of the Gunnm manga : Last Order (continuation of the Gunnm manga): the editor-in-chief of the Screwhead Times, in which Koyomi works, refused to publish too scandalous photos related to the Vector, because in his opinion the faces are not clearly visible. At this time, one of the employees rushes to the editorial office with sensational news that they rumored to have seen Dan alive ... As a result, Koyomi is tasked with conducting a journalistic investigation ...
