Izvekovo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Novodugin district . Located in the northeastern part of the region, 20 km west of Novodugin . Population - 201 inhabitants ( 2007 ). The administrative center of Izvekovsky rural settlement.

History
The village of Izvekovo received its present name from the names of the landowners of Izvekovs at the end of the XVIII century. Until this village was called Golitsyno - from the previous owners - the princes Golitsyn . In 1768, under the landowner Vasily Brovtsyn, a wooden church was built in the village in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God . In 1913 a stone church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was built in the village. During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied. After liberation in 1943, 47 houses and 147 inhabitants remained in the village [1] .
Attractions
In the village is the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God . The temple was built in 1913 in the Russian-Byzantine style. The quadrangle of the temple is crowned with a decorative five-headed. The temple has a refectory and hipped bell tower. In the 1930s, the church was closed. In 1941, the church was opened and no longer closed [2] . The Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a local architectural monument [3] .
In Izvekovo there is the Mass grave of 12 citizens of the village, shot by the Nazis on September 14, 1942.
