Okridion

Okridion ( from "okris" - elevation ) - a hero whose sanctuary was in Rhodes .

According to the legend recorded by Plutarch , Ochim grabbed his daughter Kidippu for Okridion . But Ohim's brother, Kerkath , in love with Kidippus, kidnapped her and fled. To abduct, he conspired with a messenger who was to take Kidippe to the groom. Because of this, the custom arose of not allowing messengers in the shrine of Okridion in memory of the insult inflicted on him [1] . Modern commentators consider this explanation of the custom questionable, because escorting the bride with a messenger is not consistent with the famous wedding ceremonies [2] .

The Etruscan word of the course , the Latin name Okrisia (mother of Servius Tullius ) was compared with the Pelasgian name Acrisius [3] .
