Prechistoe is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Dukhovshchinsky district . It is located in the northern part of the region, 35 km north of the Dukhovschina , at the intersection of the P136 Smolensk - Nelidovo highway and the Smolensk- Ozerny railway, at the source of the Arzhat river . The population is 1,128 inhabitants (2007). The administrative center of Prechistensky rural settlement .

History
In 1929-1934 and 1935-1961 the village was the center of the Prechistensky district of the Smolensk region.
