Biography
Born in 1823.
Arriving in Russia in 1846 , he taught French in St. Petersburg , was the director of the Reformed School of St. Peter from 1846 to 1857 .
Proceedings
Wrote many editions of training manuals:
- “Cours elementaire et progressif de la langue francaise” (1855; 36th edition, St. Petersburg, 1909),
- “Grammaire theorique et pratique de la langue francaise” (9th edition, ib., 1912).
He also published Quelques observations sur l'enseignement de la langue francaise dans les ecoles (St. Petersburg, 1854). - See “St. Petersburg Vedomosti” (1872, Nos. 57 and 63).
