Biography
He studied philosophy at the Complutense University of Madrid , graduated in 1964 , after which he studied conducting with Franco Ferrara and Hans Swarovski . Debuted at the conductor desk in 1969 .
In 1981 - 1990 - Musical director of the German Opera in Berlin, at the same time in 1984 - 1988 . led the National Orchestra of Spain . In 1986 - 2000 Chief Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra , 1990 - 2000 also chief conductor of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra . Since 2003 - Musical Director of the Royal Theater in Madrid and the Madrid Symphony Orchestra .
