History
The history of Zarubino is associated with the existing deposit of refractory clays, the extraction of which in the territory of the modern settlement began in the 19th century [2] . The first building in Zarubino - the office of the mine of the Red Ceramics plant was built in 1920 [2] . By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of August 27, 1939, Zarubino was transformed into a working village [3] . The mine, which produced refractory clays for the refractory plant in Borovichi , was closed in 1991 due to the complication of hydrological conditions and unprofitability [4] . The second largest enterprise in the village was a branch of the Kirov Plant , transformed by the beginning of the 21st century into Zarubinsky Mechanical Plant LLP, and then into a small enterprise for logging and processing of wood [2] , which quickly ceased operations [4] . The closure of industrial enterprises in the village caused a significant outflow of the population, and in 2004 Zarubino was transformed into a rural settlement - the village of Zarubino.
