Philtrum Press Publishing

Stephen King founded his own private publishing house, Philtrum Press, in 1982 to publish the first installment of the plant epistolary novel, which the King’s family distributed to friends and acquaintances on Christmas cards as greeting cards. The following Christmas, King published through Philtrum Press the second part of The Plants. In 1984, instead of the next part of the novel, King’s new novel “ Eyes of the Dragon ” was published in a limited edition of 1000 copies with the author’s painting (subsequently the publicly available edition was released only in 1987). The third part of "Plants" appeared the following year. In 1987, the Philtrum Press published Don Robertson’s novel, The Ideal Genuine Man, with King's 15-page introduction. The publisher, after a 10-year hiatus, published Six Stories in 1997 at a cost of $ 80, plus postage. Two years later, Philtrum Press published The New Lieutenant's Rap , a draft excerpt from Hearts in Atlantis , its latest edition to date, not including the electronic versions of The Horse on Pula still unfinished "Plants".
