Story

The crew of the Interplanetary Express attends the 3004 Olympic Games .

Hermes competes in the limbo for the Jamaican team. In his victory, the invention of Professor Farnsworth is trying to help him - a spandex suit that corrects the figure ( body-shaping spandex suit ).

Bender also wants to take part in flexion competitions, but looking at the robot athletes, he realizes that his chances of winning are slim. Then he disguises himself as a robot girl to win among the female team of robots. He is registered under the name Collette from Robonia . Thus, he wins five gold medals , but then he needs to pass a gender test, for which he decides to change it (consisting in replacing male oil with female oil and cutting off the antenna ). The operation is successful, and Bender becomes a woman ...

“Kollet” becomes a celebrity: she is invited to participate in a television show, and Bender continues to remain in the female body, although the chances of a successful return of the sex every day are less and less ... Calculon falls in love with the Collet TV show: he invites her to a date , and then does the proposal that Collet Bender accepts ...

At first, Collet agrees to marriage to Calculon for mercantile purposes, but very soon really falls in love with him. Then the Express crew comes up with a plan: Kollet should supposedly die right in the arms of Calculon. The idea works, and Collet, with the help of Professor Farnsworth, becomes Bender again.

Interesting Facts

  • Countries seen at the 3004 Olympics (fictitious states in italics ):
    • Cyberia ( not to be confused with Siberia ( Siberia ), although, judging by the robes of the robes in the column, here is a hint just to Siberia);
    • The nation of Joe (Nation of Joe) - obviously, consists of one person - Joe himself;
    • Devil's Island
    • Republic of French Stereotypes ;
    • Canada
    • U.S.
    • Great Britain
    • Sweden
    • Jamaica
    • Belgium
    • South Korea
    • Chile
  • If there were no breaks in the series of the Olympic Games during the third millennium, and the period between them remained at four years, then we observe the CCLXXVIII (278th) Games.
  • The title of the episode has three meanings:
    • It is consonant with the name of the protagonist of the episode (Band-Hyo - Bender);
    • It refers us to the film Ben-Hur;
    • The term "gender bending" (literally - "bending the floor") is translated as "sex change" .
  • Once again, Bender’s antenna is compared in value to manhood . Last time it was in the “ I, Roommate ” series.
  • The inscription “10w-40” on the oil barrel, in which Bender and Calculon sit, is the designation of the viscosity of motor oil in cars.
  • On the table of robotic vessels you can see the symbols of the Olympic Games, in which there are seven rings (instead of five).
  • When asked by the Interplanetary Express team why Hermes (with his unsportsmanlike uniform) should participate in the limbo competitions, rather than a trained team, he replied that for unknown reasons they were detained at the airport (this is obviously another hint of the creators of excessive addiction Jamaicans to marijuana and the team’s attempt to cross the border with it). The same hints are found in a series where children, imitating Bender's thieves' skills, stole a “cigar” from Hermes. After the latter took it from his son, he explained that this was not a cigar at all. In another series, during the parade, Zoidberg noticed a strange cloud behind a platform with Sepp Brannigan, to which Hermes replied that it was not a cloud, but only a Jamaican platform.
