The Church of the Savior of the Miraculous Image on Setuni is an Orthodox church in Moscow , located on the banks of the Setuni River on 18 Ryabinovaya Street at 18 Kuntsevsky Cemetery . An object of cultural heritage of regional significance [1] .
Content
History
The temple was built in 1673-1676 at the Spasskoye-Manukhino estate owned by the diplomat, boyar A. S. Matveev . In 1809 the temple was rebuilt, a bell tower and a refectory were erected. Then, at the expense of the landowner G. A. Kiryanov, a throne was established in the name of St. Gregory Decapolite. In 1833, a stone fence was built around the Spasskaya Church; since 1844, with the funds of the landowner A. G. Dobrovolskaya, construction of a new chapel in the refectory in the name of St. Nicholas, consecrated in 1850. In 1905, the aisles were reconstructed according to the project of the architect V.F. Zhigardlovich .
In 1941, the temple was closed.
After the restoration began in the 1970s, in May 1989, services were resumed.
July 16, 1996 the church was consecrated by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II .
Behind the altar of the temple is a small cemetery of honored Moscow priests. There is also the grave of priest Daniil Sysoev , who was killed in 2009.

From the Kuntsevskaya metro station, take bus number 610 to the Spasskaya Church stop, walk along the concrete fence back and climb the mound near the flower shop. You can also get the same bus from metro station “Yugo-Zapadnaya” (south lobby).
