The Sony Alpha DSLR-A200 is the third model in the Sony DSLR family. The camera belongs to the initial level and is designed to replace the A100 being removed from production. A200 was announced in January 2008 and went on sale in February.

Main differences from A100
- Increased display diagonal from 2.5 to 2.7 inches (the number of pixels has not changed - 230,000)
- Used a new type of battery with a slightly larger capacity and InfoLithium technology (with the ability to find out the remaining charge in percent)
