Background
October 27, 1962 shot down an American U-2 reconnaissance aircraft. In response, the United States began bombing Cuba, to which the USSR responds with an attack on West Berlin. A nuclear war began, which ended only in December. The world splits into four blocks - the USA, the USSR, China and the European countries abandoned by the Americans and Russians, united in the European Union (at the beginning of the game, the Franco-German Union). Scientists report that in 3 years the entire Northern Hemisphere will be covered with radioactive ice, all countries are experiencing a lack of funds and technologies for survival. All parties decide to move to the equatorial lands, but space and resources are not enough for everyone, which means - again, the war ...
Parties to a conflict
The game allows you to choose one of the four storylines of the game - for the USSR, the Anglo-American alliance, the Franco-German alliance and China. Each of these parties in the post-nuclear world solves its tasks, each with its own initial conditions, its own balance of power with opponents and its own theaters of operations. The Soviet Union has modern weapons and an advantage in the number of ground forces in Europe, but is experiencing a severe lack of resources; much of the industry is destroyed. The Anglo-American alliance is also well equipped with weapons, but the fulfillment of tasks is complicated due to the lack of resources and the need to act in different regions of the world. The Franco-German alliance has an advantage in some high-tech types of military equipment, but the serious shortage of personnel and resources complicates the fighting at the initial stage. China has considerable human potential, but the bulk of weapons are outdated and correspond to the level of World War II; the country has a difficult domestic political situation at the time of the start of the campaign.
USSR
The land army of the USSR lost its former strength, but still remained the strongest in the world. Before the use of weapons of mass destruction, the Soviet army managed to seize a significant part of Western Europe, with the exception of small territories in Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal. However, the management of military units that were at a considerable distance from the European part of the USSR is difficult or impaired. Another possible theater of war for the USSR is the territory affected by Chinaβs nuclear conflict. Thanks to the heroic efforts of the Soviet people and large strategic reserves, the USSR has a sufficient amount of certain resources: aviation; railway, construction, military and industrial equipment; fuel. For the rest, there is an acute shortage of able-bodied population; there is a lack of a transport fleet, modern technologies necessary for a future life in the conditions of the βnuclear winterβ predicted by scientists.
Anglo-American Alliance
The capital of the United States was moved to New Orleans, the capital of the union of Great Britain - in Edinburgh. Killed more than 100 million Americans. Many found salvation in the western sparsely populated areas of the country, some managed to leave the United States. The losses of the United Kingdom were especially great: almost the entire civilian population, 95% of the personnel of the armed forces, a lot of equipment and weapons. Destroyed by explosions or contaminated up to 85% of the territory. At the suggestion of the US Department of State, the allied nations united on the basis of collegial governance. In the post-nuclear world, the Anglo-American army became the second most powerful after the Soviet. The Anglo-American alliance has a sufficient number of ships of the transport and military fleets. There is an acute shortage of people and fuel, there is a shortage of land engineering equipment. The number of military vehicles in Europe is limited due to the difficulty of transferring the reserve from the United States. In addition to Britain, the Anglo-American alliance has no bridgeheads. In Southeast Asia, operations against the Chinese army had some success and led to the capture of three small bridgeheads in mainland China.
Franco-German alliance
Almost immediately after the first phase of the conflict in the face of a threat from the East, the French and German governments announced the creation of a common union. Germany suffered much in the conflict and lost about 3/4 of its territory, taking the brunt of the Soviet troops and the US missile strikes in German territory. Most parts of the French army survived because they did not have time to take an active part in the hostilities against the Soviet troops. The capital of the union was Bordeaux. Large areas of infection are located in the north, west and partly in the center of France, there is an acute shortage of resources. However, one of the advantages of the Franco-German alliance is the presence of unique industries and technologies that can ensure the survival of nations in the post-nuclear world. Similar production in the USSR and the United States were destroyed in the first stage of the conflict. In the countries of the Union there is an acute shortage of people and fuel. The merchant and navy fleet is relatively well preserved.
China
Unlike countries in Europe and North America, China has not actively participated in the hostilities. A significant part of its territory remained aloof from the direct action of weapons of mass destruction. The bulk of rivers, lakes, wells and groundwater, as well as the soil is not contaminated. Taking advantage of the global conflict, the Chinese Communist government began hostilities against Taiwan, which was controlled by the followers of the Kuomintang, as well as against US naval bases in Indonesia and the Philippines. In response, the United States conducted bombing of military groups, military facilities and industrial cities in the south and south-east of China and completely destroyed Beijing. During the bombing, most of the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party, who over the years of the "great leap" (1958-1962), brought the country to a critical state, died. Some officers of the Chinese Peopleβs Army took power into their own hands and announced the creation of a new Chinese state. The Chinese Peopleβs Army is the third most powerful in the post-nuclear world. However, the only resource that China has in abundance is people. There is an acute shortage of equipment and fuel. The main part of the armament is an outdated Soviet technique from the time of World War II. There were no transport and military fleets needed to transport goods and people.

Caribbean crisis. Ice trip
After the end of the Third World War (1962-1965), an unstable equilibrium developed. The USSR occupied Egypt, India, Southeast and East Africa, but, despite such vast territories, experienced an acute shortage of heavy industry and ferrous metals. China, which occupied Indochina and Indonesia, was experiencing an acute shortage of territory and was threatened by American air raids from Australia. The European Union, which occupied West Africa, exhausted its forces in the struggle for survival and soon lost new territories seized by the USSR. The United States, having included England as a result of the war, occupied the territories of South Africa, Australia and Latin America, and of all the tasks assigned to it, they were able to successfully carry out only the seizure and removal of stocks of petroleum products and repelling the invasion of South Africa.
The delicate balance was broken by the glaciation that began in the Southern Hemisphere, which surpassed the most pessimistic forecasts of scientists. Due to geographical features, the only victims were the United States, which other participants in the conflict decided to take advantage of. In Africa, conflicts on the border with South Africa have become more frequent, and Chinese aviation has launched air raids on Australia. Due to the increase in the number of icebergs, the US fleet was useless, and all transportation between the continents began to be carried out on the ice of the Southern Ocean. Realizing the impossibility of retaining all the territories, the United States throws all its forces on the evacuation of the population and resources from Australia and South Africa to South America, leaving Central America with little or no protection.
The USSR decides to take advantage of the unique opportunity to strike at the old enemy and provide its heavy industry with resources, for which it is the plan of the Ice Age. From Africa to America, a railroad is being built across the ice of the Atlantic, and the Soviet troops invade defenseless Latin America.
After persistent battles, the main forces of the USSR successfully export resources to the pre-war territories of the United States and begin their transfer to the USSR. The attack units of the Soviet army remain in the rearguard and successfully counterattack American troops in the southern states, while the rearguard of the Soviet forces in Mexico was destroyed by a US counterattack. Soon, after the removal of part of the Soviet forces, the American army delivers a new blow and beats off part of the resources, completely defeating parts of the Soviet troops that did not have time to evacuate.
After the end of the fighting, both the United States and the USSR declare that they have achieved a complete and unconditional victory over the enemy troops.
