Biography

Born February 10, 1949 in Moscow , in the family of an officer. Since 1959 he studied at the Krasnopresnensky art school. From 1966 to 1972 he studied at the Moscow Architectural Institute [1] . After his graduation, he combined work in design organizations with classes in graphics, and then painting (from the late 70s). From 1979 to 1988 worked at the plant of monumental and decorative art. Since 1977, he began to exhibit works in basements on Malaya Gruzinskaya , where in the fall of 1985 they were spotted by New York dealers and collectors [2] . Since 1987, paintings began to be widely exhibited in the United States, then in Western Europe and the USSR (Russia). He lived and worked in Moscow. Since 2016 lives in Israel.

Views

In February 2013, he recorded a video message for the LGBT community for the project “Against Homophobia”, in which he opposed the law banning the so-called “ propaganda of homosexuality ” [3] .
