Communication in Mariupol is represented by leading Ukrainian mobile operators ( Vodafone Ukraine , Jeans , Ecotel , Kievstar , life :) , Beeline Ukraine ). In Soviet times, 10 automatic telephone exchanges worked in the city, recently 8 digital automatic telephone exchanges have been added.
The following PBXs are currently operating:
- Ukrtelecom: 24, 33, 34, 37, 38, 43, 47, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 58;
- VEGA Telecommunication Group (formerly Farlep and Telecom-Ukraine): 40, 41, 46, 56;
There are also in-plant stations of the plant named after Ilyich (ATS-3, 6), Azovmash (ATS-9), which have "access to the city" through the ATS-43.
In the 2000s, the following Mariupol automatic telephone exchanges were replaced:
- 35-XX-XX replaced by 51-XX-XX (with the last digits changed),
- 39-XX-XX replaced by 43-XX-XX (without changing the last digits),
- 22-XX-XX replaced by 58-XX-XX (without changing the last digits),
- 23-XX-XX is replaced by 58-XX-XX (with the last figures changed).
History
In December 1860, the Odessa-Rostov telegraph line started running through Mariupol. A postal and telegraph office appeared.
In 1895, telephone communications began to operate in the city - the first switchboard with 100 numbers was purchased.
In June 1910, the laying of telephone wires and the construction of the Mariupol - Yuzovka intercity line began in Mariupol Uyezd. The work was carried out by the Kharkov branch of Siemens and Halske .
As of January 1, 1912, there were 316 telephone exchange subscribers in Mariupol.
In July 1946, at the intercity telephone exchange, two cabins were equipped with telephones for talking on orders, as well as a payphone for talking around the city.
In September 1943, after the Nazis were expelled from Mariupol, the restoration of the city began. The telecommunication workers of the 10th repair and restoration communications battalion were the first to restore telecommunications in the city.
In September 2016, the celebration of the 238th anniversary of the founding of Mariupol was marked by the launch of 3G from Kyivstar in the entire city and suburban area. [one]
Starting April 27, 2017, Vodafone Ukraine provided 3G coverage in Mariupol. [2]
