Akatovsky

Akatovskoye [2] [3] [4] [5] (Akatovskoye Lake [1] , Svaditskoe [1] , Svaditsa [3] ) is a hollow lake of glacial origin in the Demidov district of the Smolensk region of Russia . It is the largest lake of natural origin located entirely within the Smolensk region ( Shchuchye lake has a superior area, but is located mostly in the Tver region ) [6] [1] . It is located on the territory of the Titovschinsky rural settlement [7] in the northern part of the Smolensky biological reserve [8] . The water area of ​​the lake has been protected by the state since 1981 as a regional hydrological natural monument "Lake Akatovskoye" [6] .

The lake is crossed by the Svaditsa river, connecting it with the Kaspli basin. On the south side, the Divitsa River flows into Akatovskoye, flowing from Lake Divo . In the east flows the river Aunt . On the southern shore is a small lake Karets, formerly formerly Akatovsky Bay and now communicating with it through the channel. The northern, eastern and southeastern shores are high, the southwest is low and boggy. The bottom is flat [1] [4] [5] .

The lake has a high recreational potential, especially its northeastern coast [6] [1] .
