Friedrich Ernst Krukenberg ( German: Friedrich Ernst Krukenberg ; April 1, 1871 - February 20, 1946 ) - German doctor. The brother of Herman and George Heinrich Peter Kruckenberg, grandson of Peter Kruckenberg .

He studied at the University of Marburg , specializing in gynecology and ophthalmology . In 1896 , in the article Über das Fibrosarcoma ovarii mucocellulare (carcinomatodes), he first described , a type of ovarian fibrosarcoma . In the field of ophthalmology, Kruckenberg described, under the guidance of his mentor , the so-called Kruckenberg spindle - a spindle-shaped pigment deposition on the back of the cornea that can be used as an early symptom of developing glaucoma [1] . Later he was mainly engaged in private medical practice.
