The Problem with Popplers

After visiting the planet for beggars , the Interplanetary Express team did not have any food left. To provide themselves with food for the next two days on their way home, the team decides to inspect one of the associated planets, hoping to find at least McDonald's . On the planet, they find something unknown, but edible and tasty. Filling his find with a spaceship, the team goes to Earth.

At the office of the Interplanetary Express, Fry , Lila and Bender brought the new dish to everyone, and the team decides to give it a name. Since the only unregistered names were Popplers and Zijirs , Fry suggests calling them popplers, and Bender suggests starting to sell them.

During a televised poppler debate involving hippies Fries Waterfall Jr. , aliens from the planet Omicron Perseus 8 , led by the ruler Lrrrom, attack planet Earth . It turned out that popplers are children of Omikronians. And now they flew in to eat all the people and avenge their children.

For each omicronian eaten, people should give one child, but, as it turned out during the negotiations of Sepp Brannigan with the ruler of Lrrr, people managed to eat 198 billion popplers, which exceeds the number of people in the XXXI century. The Omikronians agree to eat only one person, and this person becomes Leela, the first to try poppler.

During the organized show, The Monster Eats a Man, Sepp Brannigan replaces Leela with a huge female orangutan . But when Lrrr almost believed in a hoax, Fries Waterfall Jr. decides to save the orangutan and reveals the hoax. Lilu is saved from death by the small poppler Jrr, whom Lila saved earlier.
