About the album
The Jester Race is the first album recorded with vocalist Anders Frieden , before which the group used a session vocalist. It is also the first album featuring Björn Gellotte, who in the future will become the main guitarist of the group. A video for the song “Artifacts of the Black Rain” was released.
After the album was released, the group went on tour with the bands Samael , Grip Inc. and Kreator . [one]
The Jester race is one of the first and classic albums in the style of Melodic death metal [2] , along with the albums of At the Gates Slaughter of the Soul and Dark Tranquility The Gallery , which included melodies typical of the genre, double solo guitars, high growling , acoustic guitars.
