Overview
Live at Chelmsford Top Security Prison , released in 1990 by Restless Records , is considered one of the worst examples of the Sex Pistols bootleg . Former sound engineer for the band’s concerts, Dave Goodman, who recorded this performance, made significant changes to it; in this way additional parts of guitars were added, a voice imitating the cursing and singing of Johnny Rotten , as well as the noise and almost the riot of the prisoners before whom the group spoke.
In 1992, the same concert, but without Goodman's overlap, was released on Dojo Records . This version was reissued in 2002 by Sanctuary Records .
The performance itself, despite the rather high quality of the recording (as it was taken from the mixing console , and not from the amateur film), is uneven and listless.
