History

The name was assigned to her in 1845 . It is associated with tanneries. At the end of the 18th century, here, on a site adjacent to the Neva , the first private tannins and then factories appeared. On the plan of St. Petersburg in 1852, nine private tanneries were already marked in the area of ​​this line.

Leather line on the Neva side

The reconstruction of the buildings of the Brusnitsyns leather factory at the addresses of Kozhevennaya Line, 27 and 30 in 1868–1871 was carried out by A.R. Geshvend , in 1884–1889 the section of house 30 (the left part) was rebuilt and expanded by A. I. Kovsharov .
