Mobile-ITX is the smallest motherboard form factor currently available for x86- compatible processors, introduced by VIA Technologies on December 1, 2009 [1] [2] . The size of the motherboard is 60 × 60 mm, while it does not contain input / output ports . To connect external devices and power, it is proposed to use a daughter board, which is connected to using two 120-pin connectors located on the back of the base module. Intended use - industrial mobile and embedded systems for medicine, transport and military needs [2] . VIA planned to begin its first commercial deliveries in the first quarter of 2010 [1] [2] .
History
The Mobile-ITX form factor was first announced by VIA Technologies at Computex in June 2007 . Initially, it was assumed that the dimensions of the motherboard of this form factor will be 75 × 45 mm and it will be equipped with a full set of interface connectors [3] .
The prototype motherboard demonstrated at the exhibition was equipped with an x86- compatible VIA C7- M ULV processor with a working frequency of 1 GHz, a VIA VX700 chipset, a full set of standard interfaces, and a 3G / CDMA communication chip [4] . The widespread use of Mobile-ITX was also assumed in mass models of communicators and UMPC [3] . At the exhibition, a prototype VIA Nanobook subnotebook with a 7-inch screen running Windows XP was presented [5] .
