Van Innis, Hubert

Gerard Theodor Hubert Van Innis ( Dutch: Gerard Theodor Hubert Van Innis ; February 24, 1866 , Elevate - November 25, 1961 , Zemst ) - Belgian archery , six-time champion of the 1900 Summer Olympics and the 1920 Summer Olympics . He is the most titled archer in the history of the Olympic Games and the most successful Belgian athlete [1] .

1900 Summer Olympics

At the Games in Paris, Innis became the Olympic champion twice in the classes “Cordon Dore” at 33 m and “Chapelle” at 33 m. He also received a silver award in “Cordon Dore” at 50 m. In “Chapelle” at 50 m he finished the competition fourth.

1920 Summer Olympics

At the Games in Antwerp, Innis received four gold medals and two silver medals. He became a champion in shooting at a moving bird at 28 m, 33 m, and among teams at 33 m and 50 m. He took second places in shooting at a moving bird at 50 m at 28 m among teams. Innis did not participate in other competitions.
