Gennady Pavlovich Yakovlev (born June 7, 1938 ) is a Russian botanist , a former rector of the St. Petersburg Chemical Pharmaceutical Academy , a former head of the Department of Pharmacognosy , now a professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy, and part-time as a leading researcher at the Botanical Institute named after V. L. Komarova , systematics of higher plants. G.P. Yakovlev is one of the leading experts in the systematics of legumes , as well as a specialist in the field of pharmacognosy.
