Biography
Born on April 2, 1967 in Sevastopol . Father is a naval officer, mother is a military builder.
Yankovsky lived for two years in Egypt, seven months in Angola, two years in Japan, many times in Bulgaria, Poland and other countries of Eastern Europe.
He served in the special units of the military intelligence of the Black Sea Fleet as a sniper, in 1986 he went through training and training, and 1987 in the war in Afghanistan. But even after military service, he did not immediately return to peaceful life, having signed a contract for long service in the special units of the Marine Corps of the Black Sea Fleet.
In 1989, Yankovsky was invited to serve as a sniper in the SWAT at the sixth department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and served until 1996, until he quit after being seriously wounded.
He worked as an editor of the fiction departments in the publishing houses " Tsentpoligraf ", " OLMA-PRESS ", " AIF-Print ".
Creativity
The first text, partially published on the website of Yuri Nikitin, was the novel “The Shadow of this World”. The first attempt at writing did not stand up to criticism - the author was to undergo almost a three-year course of study.
Y. Nikitin , A. Mirer , E. Voyskunsky , G. L. Oldi , V. Vasilyev and O. Divov played a huge role in the development of Yankovsky as a writer, each meeting with which is a lesson in writing skills.
The first works of Yankovsky published by Tsentrpoligraf published in the series Princely Feast and were written in the genre of Slavic fantasy (tetralogy with a possible continuation of the Vityaz Mikul). Later, all the books in this series comprised the Warrior cycle, published by the Lenizdat Publishing House. His other works include the geopolitical dystopia “Rhapsody of Wrath”, the duologue of modern fantasy “Flute and Wind” - “The Lord of Probability”, a crypto-historical fantasy on the theme of Soviet occultism of the 30s “The virus of immortality”, the tetralogy of the world after World War III , which the oceans took possession of biological predisposable weapons - “Scuba Diving Rules”, “Third Race”, “Big Hunt”, “Operation Caravan”.
He is also one of the authors of a series of books on the worlds of computer games: STALKER (Epicenter of Luck, 2008) and WELL online (Degree of Freedom, 2009).

In 2015, he participated in the inter-author project “Purgatory” as the authors of the novels “The Edge”, “The Throw of the Doomed” and “The Amazon Janissher”.
In addition to literary work, Dmitry Yankovsky, as a producer and co-author of the script (with Alexandra Sashneva ), participated in the production of the full-length feature film “No Anesthesia”, and since 2008 has been the owner and general producer of the FOX FILM PRODUCTION film company that produces advertising as well as sports and travel documentaries.
In August 2015, Dmitry Yankovsky, together with the poet Lyubov Pichugina, created the musical group “Dream Hunters” , where he acts as a producer, composer and vocalist.
In June 2018, Dmitry Yankovsky began production of the film “Flute and Wind” based on his own novel of the same name as a producer, director and screenwriter. The shooting period ended at the end of 2018, the release of the film is planned for the summer of 2019. The main role in the film was played by Lyubov Pichugin, the soundtrack to the film was created by the group “Dream Catchers”.
