Content
General information
The village is named for the river Wilga. The word wilga is akin to Finnish valkea and means white. It was founded by the Red Finns in the 1930s. During the Great Patriotic War from September 1941 she was in Finnish occupation. [2] .
Administratively refers to the Novovilgovsky rural settlement . Located on the highway M18 ( E 105 ). From December 1, 2004 to April 15, 2005, it was the center of the Prionezhsky region of the Republic of Karelia.
There is a feldsher’s point, a house of culture, a library [3] .
