PIPS

PIPS ( PIPS Is POSIX on Symbian ) - Ported Operating System Interface ( POSIX ) for Symbian , the libraries needed to run certain applications. With it, developers get an easy way to port applications from different operating systems without the need to change the application interface. This feature is implemented by implementing the standard POSIX C API in Symbian OS . The new API is packaged in the industry standard libraries - libc, libm, libpthread and libdl - and closely integrated into the Symbian operating system in order to increase performance and efficient memory use. Due to this, the costs and time for migrating a software product from various operating systems are reduced.
