Biography
After graduating from the Yakut Medical College in 1936, she was sent to the Sredne-Kolyma region , where in the first year of her work she took an active part in eliminating the severe measles epidemic that erupted. For this, the Supreme Council of the YAASSR was awarded the breastplate “15 years of the YAASSR”.
In 1944, after graduating from the Irkutsk State Medical Institute, she worked as a resident in the surgical department of the Irkutsk City Clinical Hospital No. 1, which was the base of the Department of Hospital Surgery of the IGMI. The department was headed by Honored Worker of Science, Professor V. G. Shipachev. Under his leadership, she conducted a series of studies of the anatomical state and pathomorphology of the arterial bed on the limbs, amputated due to obliterating endarteritis . In 1952, she became an assistant at the Department of Faculty Surgery of the IGMI, where she worked actively under the guidance of Professor B. D. Dobychin, who commissioned her with the development of the most difficult problem - “Early diagnosis and treatment of obliterating diseases of peripheral arteries”.
In 1958, she successfully defended her thesis on "Clinical and anatomical relationships in obliterating endarteritis." During this period, she spent a lot of work on organizing a specialized consultative appointment at the clinic and, as a prototype of the future department of vascular surgery, formed 15 beds for patients with pathology of the main and peripheral vessels.
In 1960, she organized and conducted full-scale screening studies among the population and at enterprises in Eastern Siberia to identify early forms of obliterating diseases of the main and peripheral vessels. The accumulated experience was summarized in a doctoral dissertation on the topic “Early detection and complex treatment of patients with obliterating endarteritis in the context of a medical examination”, which she successfully defended in 1970.
Alexandra Vasilievna was one of the best cardiac surgeons in Eastern Siberia. The main focus of her scientific research was clinical angiology . Since 1971, she began to actively develop reconstructive surgery for diseases of the main and peripheral vessels, headed the Department of General Surgery of the Irkutsk Medical Institute, and based on Clinical Hospital No. 1 of Irkutsk organized the first regional center for vascular surgery in Siberia and the Far East. With her direct participation in 1985, the Department of Clinical Angiology and Vascular Surgery was opened at the Irkutsk State Institute for Advanced Medical Studies. From 1982 to 2002, she worked as a professor at the Department of General Surgery at the ISMU, and led a student research group. Many surgeons of the Irkutsk region are her students. Alexandra Vasilievna made a significant contribution to solving the problems of diagnosis and complex treatment of obliterating diseases of the main arteries, pathology of the veins and the organization of emergency angiosurgical care.
Having a pedagogical gift, she brought up many talented surgeons. The author of 134 scientific papers. Under her leadership, 12 candidate and 1 doctoral dissertations were defended. For many years she successfully combined pedagogical work with great social activity. She was repeatedly elected a board member of the All-Union and All-Russian Surgical Societies, the Union Problem Commission for Emergency Vascular Surgery and the Problem Commission of the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Blood Circulation Pathology, Ministry of Health of Russia. For 14 years she was the chairman of the Irkutsk Regional Society of Surgeons and a deputy of the Irkutsk Council of People's Deputies of four convocations.
Alexandra Vasilievna - Honored Doctor of Russia (Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 1106 of 06/17/2000) and the Republic of Buryatia , honorary citizen of the city of Irkutsk; She was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor , the signs “Excellent Health Care” and “Excellent Student of Higher Education”, the medal “100 Years of the Society of N. I. Pirogov”, and other medals.
