He worked as a tractor driver on a collective farm until 1942. From 1942 to 1944 he served as a motorized rifleman on a boat in the 70th border detachment on the Amur River in Kazakevichevo . In 1944, the border detachment was transferred to the Black Sea, where Shutkov was a participant in the battles in the Dnieper estuary and for the liberation of Odessa. He was seriously injured and after the hospital was sent to serve in Moscow. The service was carried out on a boat of the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the USSR I. Serov . Demobilized in 1949, worked as an mechanic at the Dynamo water stadium . In 1992, recognized as an invalid of World War II [2] [3] .

He played for Dynamo (Moscow) from 1946 to 1952, and from 1953 for the Navy CSK (Moscow).

He was fond of long-distance running, training with Vladimir Kutz [4] .

23-time champion of the USSR:

  • Class L-3 - 1 title: 1948
  • Class " L-4 " - 1 title: 1951
  • " Star " - 13 titles: 1953-1962, 1964-1965, 1969

He participated in five Olympics:

  • 1952 - “ 6mR ”, sailor (crew: Nikolai Ermakov, Kirill Kozhevnikov, Boris Lobashkov, Nikolai Matveev) - 11th place

It is enough to recall the selfless act of the sailor F. Shutkov from the crew of Ermakov. During one of the races, which took place in a fresh wind, a paint spray jumped out of the Circus. Shutkov quickly climbed the mast, set the paintbrush in place and held it for three hours with his hands so as not to interrupt the race.
