Biography
After graduating from high school in the village of Stanashi, Krasnochetaysky district of Chuvashia , he went to the front. At first he is a private soldier, then a junior commander. After the victory over Nazi Germany fought in Manchuria . In the battles he was wounded three times. Awarded with a battle medal.
After demobilization, he worked as head of a reading room in his native village, as executive secretary of the Yalav and Tavan Atal magazines, and at the same time he studied by correspondence at the Literary Institute. A. M. Gorky . During these years he published his first lyric poems.
Since 1951, in the Union of Soviet Writers.
Works
Alexander Spiridonovich began his literary work with poetry. His poems are composed of the songs loved by the people: “Oh, pleschku” (oh, you should know), “Uralnă ĕшршыв” (dear side), “Salampi yurri” (Song of Salampi) and others.
Alexander Artemyev translated the works of A. Pushkin , M. Lermontov , I. Turgenev , L. Tolstoy , I. Goethe and others into the Chuvash language .
