Description

Talovsky bowls are located on the territory of the Tomsk ledge of the Paleozoic basement .

Limestone formations, similar in shape to bowls , reach a height of 1 meter and consist of limestone tuff ( travertine ). The bowls were formed due to the emergence of lime- saturated waters on the surface of the earth. The walls of the bowls also include Bernessite , which gives them an earthy color. Burnessite is a rather rare mineral, which is a complex manganese oxide. This is the second reliable find of Bernessite in Russia.

Talovsky bowls are located in a small overgrown meadow in the forest, on an area of about 300 m². All bowls are oval .

In total, 4 large bowls and 3 (according to some sources, 5) small ones are known in the Talovskiy bowl group. The largest of them is about 2 meters wide, about 3.5 meters long and 2 meters deep, its walls reach half a meter and their thickness increases towards the base; the other three - in diameter from 0.5 to 1.5 m, small bowls in diameter no more than half a meter. The bowls are constantly growing due to overflowing water, which lays new layers of salt.

Each bowl has a mouth where excess water flows from. The flow rate of the main source is approximately 1 l / s. At the same time, in one of the bowls, water continues to flow along the calcareous gutter for about another 10 m, that is, the water does not flow down the lowland, but, on the contrary, up the hill. The water is slightly mineralized, magnesia - calcium , bicarbonate , the temperature is kept at + 5 ... + 6 ° C, does not freeze in winter. It is widely believed that water helps with eye and skin diseases, as well as diseases of the gastrointestinal tract .

In addition to the Talov bowls, the Sukhorechensky and Berezovsky bowls are known.
