Story

The KOZY 102.1 South Park radio station sponsors the Halloween Haunt concert, which Korn is due to attend, which is actively opposed by Maxi's father . Children are looking forward to Halloween , with the exception of Cartman - he is more pleased with the fact that only two months are left before Christmas . Fifth -graders play out on the promenade of Cartman, Stan , Kyle and Kenny ; Stan also wants to scare them with something in revenge. To get even with fifth graders, the children decide to dig out Kyle's dead grandmother, Cleo Broflovsky , from the grave.

In the meantime, Korn drive to South Park on their Mystic Wagon. While Jonathan plays the game “Guess what I see,” the group notices “Pirate Ghosts” on the road and the car crashes. In the meantime, after digging up the corpse, the boys leave it in the port, where a stray dog immediately eats it (which they don’t know about). At the docks, children meet Korn musicians aimlessly milling around. Father Maxi soon appears and condemns Korn for appearing in the city. The next morning, cemetery watchmen appear at Mrs. Broflovsky’s house and report that her grandmother Cleo’s body has disappeared, after which they suggest that her corpse was stolen by a necrophile , listing many different ways of copulating with a corpse.

Cartman, instead of his mother, receives a parcel in which he finds a life-size inflatable doll in the form of Antonio Banderas with genitals. Despite the fact that the doll is obviously a sex toy , Cartman decides that this is a pre-ordered gift from his mother for Christmas, and, having inflated the doll, takes it with him to the city in high spirits. Children return to the docks in suits in the hope of winning a competition for the best suit, with Kenny wearing an ED-209 robot suit (as usual, his face is not visible, but everyone will easily recognize him). The children discover that Kyle’s grandmother’s corpse has disappeared and go to Korn for advice. They conclude that the missing body is associated with the advent of the Pirate Ghosts. In the town square, cemetery watchmen explain that the version of necrophilia is very likely, but here Pirate Ghosts appear and terrify the whole city. Several townspeople explode, and one ghost decapitates two, justifying Father Maxi's words about the evil essence of the holiday.

Korn and the children begin to investigate the "Riddle of Pirate Ghosts and the missing body." After several failures, it turns out that Maxi's father is involved in the appearance of the Pirate Ghosts; he created the illusion of their appearance with the help of elementary effects to scare everyone and make the townspeople hate the devilish holiday and the devilish band Korn. The mystery of the missing corpse Cleo Broflovski is solved when a dog in front of a crowd of city dwellers spits up a body, safe and sound. After Maxi’s father’s arrest, “Halloween Haunt” goes as planned; Korn give a concert, performing " Falling Away from Me ". The heavy, aggressive sound of the song contrasts strongly with their joyful behavior in the episode. The boys manage to take revenge on the fifth graders - while Korn perform, they scare them with Cleo’s corpse. Mr. Harrison gives the prize for Wendy's best costume; Kenny in the suit of the ED-209 robot does not receive anything and dies when he walks sadly around the city during the credits.

Kenny's death

During the credits, when Kenny leaves the competition in his robot costume, grumbling that his wonderful costume did not win the first prize, the tiny Snowspeeder flies in and ties it with a cable, as in the film Empire strikes back . Then two more Snowspeeders arrive and finish him off, after which rats eat the corpse.

Censorship

  • The passage where Cartman sticks his hand into the intestines of a pony was cut from the TV version.
  • The erect penis of a life-size inflatable doll in the form of Antonio Banderas with genitals is not shown in the censored version.

Korn's Appearance

Korn Issues came out shortly after the show and included the song “ Falling Away from Me ” from the episode. The musicians of the group contacted the authors of the animated series, saying that they want to arrange the first show of their first single in "South Park"; as a result, the episode with the performance of this song in the cartoon became its world premiere [1] . All Korn musicians voiced themselves in the series. In the episode, there are references to past singles of Korn - including Blind (the leader of the Pirate Ghosts is Captain Blind) and Clown ( Fieldy says he can't stand the sight of a crying clown).

Parodies

  • The plot, many phrases, actions, as well as characters of the Korn group are referred to the animated series " Scooby-Doo ." Korn is painted in the style of Scooby-Doo, a bird named Kluvik travels with them (referring to the Scooby-Doo dog in the original), the Korn wagon resembles the Scooby-Doo hero van. In addition, when Korn appears, a melody resembles a theme from the original.
  • In Robocop, the ED-209 robot in whose costume Kenny is dressed gets out of control and kills a man named Kenny. Later, the same-looking robot appears in episode 604 as Chef's new malfunctioning television.

Facts

  • As in previous issues dedicated to Halloween - “ Conjunctivitis ” and “ Scary Fish ” - this series uses a special version of the screensaver . “Korn's Great Pirate Ghost Mystery” was the last episode of this introduction. The episode " Hell on Earth 2006 " used a standard introduction.
  • Wendy, who won the costume contest with her Chewbacca costume, is a reference to the episode Conjunctivitis , where she wins in the same costume, despite the fact that almost all the children in the class wear the same costume.
  • “A Man from Alabama” ( English Alabama Man ), a toy from the previous episode (“ Chinpocomon ”), can be seen in Cartman’s Christmas gifts catalog, as well as a Phillip doll from the “ Cow Days ” series, and Mr. Hankey’s set for games.
  • Trey Parker and Matt Stone said that a couple of cemetery caretakers are the most similar to the real image of themselves in the series [2] .
  • Kluvik subsequently appears in the episode Imaginationland, episode III .
  • When the boys go to the cemetery, you can see the tombstone on which is written "Kenny 1999." There is also an empty grave, on the tombstone of which is written "Kenny 2000", prepared for the next season.
  • At the eleventh minute, a man is wearing a Leonard Maltin robot costume from the Mech-Streisand series.
