Dorofei Tirsky ( 255 - 362 ) is a Christian saint , revered as a martyr . The memory takes place in the Orthodox Church on June 18 ( June 5, according to the Julian calendar ), in the Catholic Church on June 5 .

Dorotheus was the bishop of Tire of Phoenician . He hid during the period of persecution of Christians under the emperor Diocletian and returned to Tire after the adoption of the Edict of Milan, Emperor Constantine . Upon his return, Dorofey ruled his diocese for about 50 years and was martyred during the reign of Julian the Apostate in the city of Ud (present-day Varna ).
Dorotheus is credited with compiling a “Synopsis” (a collection of legends about the lives of the prophets and apostles ), containing one of the variants of the list of seventy apostles .
