Biography

Born in the family of a foundry cannon craftsman. He studied mining and other sciences with his father and his teachers.

Since 1716, Mr .. was at the Ore Order at the disposal of the Procurator Johann Bluer , the initiator of the creation of the Berg Collegium .

In 1727, rising to the rank of lieutenant from artillery, Beer commanded the ship Victoria , sailing between Kronstadt , Revel and Rogervik (Baltic port).

Since 1731 - the manager of the Sestroretsk arms factory . In 1734, he presented to the Admiralty College a model of the machine, "through which you can pull strip iron into subtlety," and improved the fusee, "which was actually more effective in shooting and distance against Russian soldiers." In February 1735, Empress Anna Ioannovna visited the Sestroretsk factories, and Beer was granted the captain of naval artillery as a result of the visit. In December of that year, he was credited to the captain of the artillery corps.

In 1736, the Tula arms factory was audited. In 1737, with the rank of major, he dropped out of the list of naval artillery. In the same year, the Olonets factories were audited to investigate the reasons for their loss (together with Ober-Krieg artillery commissioner Unkovsky), additionally examined the silver-lead deposits of the Bear Islands (in the White Sea).

Since 1738 - the chief manager of the Tula arms office with the title of adviser; he rebuilt factory dams on the Tulitsa river, with the aim of expanding arms production, he demanded that Tula and Kaluga barriers be assigned to factories. In 1744, in response to the demand of the artillery office about new increased subsidies, he submitted a report to the military collegium on the Tula and Sestroretsk factories, in which he explained “ how can they be maintained without adding the amount required by the artillery chancellery ” Senta, approving the report, appointed Beer chief director Tula and Sestroretsk arms factories with the rank of foreman .

On May 17 (30), 1744 , a decree was issued to remove the clerks A. N. Demidov from managing mines and factories in Altai and transfer them to the disposal of A. V. Beer, head of the commission created “to repair effective gold and silver ores there” [1] ; Beer I.S. Khristiani ’s nephew, “for making evidence of the Zmeinogorsk ore” was also included in the commission. The commission led by Beer conducted a survey of the Zmeinogorsk silver deposit discovered there, analyzed the ores, and Beer himself predicted a great future for this deposit [2] . According to Beer's report, it was decided to acquire the Kolyvano-Voskresensky factories. On May 1, 1747, Tsarina Elizaveta Petrovna ordered the Altai possessions of Demidov (by the time of the deceased) "to take on Us." For as many as 170 years, they became the property of the Cabinet of E. I. V. The estate was called the “District of Kolyvano-Voskresensky Factories” (later Altai Mountain District ). During test swimming trunks in 1745, 44 pounds of 6 pounds of silver and 12 pounds of 32 gold spools were obtained from these plants. It was from Zmeinogorsk silver in 1750 that under the supervision of Schlatter , Cancer Alexander Nevsky was made, which is still kept in the Hermitage.

In 1747, after the demidov enterprises in Altai were transferred to the tsar’s Cabinet, Beer was appointed the first chief commander of the Kolyvano-Voskresensky factories and promoted to major general (1747). Beer did a lot to organize the expansion of mining and metallurgical production in Altai . In a short time, the Barnaul and Kolyvan factories were converted to silver smelting, the development of the Zmeinogorsk mine was established, intensive settlement of the region began, and the use of its ore and forest wealth in the interests of mining production. At the same time, the border was strengthened, a postal chase was organized, tillage developed, new lands were developed.

He died on July 21, 1751 in Barnaul , was buried at the Peter and Paul Church (the grave was lost).

Family

Father - Venedikt Larionovich Beyer (1630-1734), arrived in Russia “from across the sea through Sweden and Kurland” around 1665, “Swede”, hammermaker at the Petrovsky plants in the Olonets region; another version of the origin of A.V. Beer is indicated in the RBS - “... arrived in Russia under the name of Andreas Beer in 1704 from Saxony, among other“ ore-working and ore-melting masters “written out by Peter the Great from abroad.”

Nephew - Johann Samuel Christiani (? - 1766).
