A secret agent, performing a special mission in Prague , stole a chip . Moving away from the persecution, the agent dies. At the NSA’s headquarters, Agent Augustus Gibbons receives one of the fragments of the Silent Night compound. He understands that this gas can be used for wars and large-scale terrorist attacks. Gibbons decides to send on a mission a civilian who is well trained and who has problems with the law. Such a civilian will be easy to manage.

A state senator arrives at a California country club. He asks to drive off his car ( Corvette ) and gives the keys to the doorman - Xander Cage. Once in the car, Cage steals it, and then drives off it from the bridge, but at the last moment manages to jump with a parachute. The car crashes, and this scene is filmed on camera, then spread on the Internet. Xander returns to his home, where they had a party, but special forces burst into the building and arrests everyone, and Cage is euthanized. Cage wakes up in a store where he manages to recognize two gunmen and defeat them. There he meets Gibbons, after which he is again euthanized. He is sent to the opium plantation, but he and several other people are caught by drug dealers. Initially, Cage does not believe the bandit, but then he realizes that everything is real. However, the Colombian police arrive, and begins to kill all the bandits. Xander survives with his skills, but is captured by unknowns. In the morning he meets Gibbons again, and he says that all this was a test, and Cage successfully managed. Augustus tells the hero that he should infiltrate the Anarchy-16 gang of Russian mafiosi. Cage initially refuses, but realizing that he will go to prison he agrees. Cage is taken to Prague, where the hero meets with the Czech police officer Sova. Cage infiltrates the Yorgi gang in an underground club, after which Yorgi and Xander decide to make an overnight deal to buy sports cars . However, in the transaction, the gang and Cage are attacked by special forces together with Sova, and the hero imitates the death of a policeman, after which he deserves the respect of the bandits, becoming, as a result, an honored guest with Yorgi. In the gang, he meets with the former FSB agent Elena, and romantic feelings arise between them. Soon, Cage opens to Elena in a restaurant, but he is forced to flee due to the intervention of sniper “Anarchy” Jiri. After that, the girl joins forces with Cage. They manage to find out Jorge’s plans: he wants to carry out a grandiose terrorist act by releasing poisonous gas into the air in the very center of Prague. The result will be hundreds of thousands of dead. While Elena is distracting, Cage penetrates the Yorgi castle in the mountains, but fails, and in the course of the chase, the brother of Yorgi Zoldan dies. The gangster swears revenge. The next time, Cage again, with the support of Elena and NSA agents, enters the castle and cracked down on the guards, however, Yorgi takes him and Elena hostage. In the morning, the Czech police storm the castle, and Elena and Xander are released. They take weapons and kill all the bandit's accomplices. Yorgi himself tries to escape by boat, but dies from the cage bullet.

However, Yorga’s plans are still being implemented: the submarine he created, carrying gas missiles aboard, rises to the surface of the Vltava, and moves with great speed along the river, reaching the salvo position. Shooting it is extremely dangerous because gas missiles can explode with the boat. Nevertheless, the authorities take combat fighters into the air, giving their pilots the command to destroy the boat: otherwise Prague will definitely become a dead city.

At the same time, Xander, not seeing the opportunity to catch a boat through the water, was chasing her from the air, and soon he managed to get to her deck. In parallel, spectators are shown the promenade and streets of Prague - numerous tourists, old people, mothers with prams, children playing ... If Xander fails, all these people will inevitably die. Moreover, it will not be possible to stop the boat in other ways: the authorities of Xander, believing in him, forbade fighters to shoot. Realizing this, the hero of the film struggles to stop the volley, but nothing comes of it: Jörga foresaw any attempts at external intervention. Being near the Charles Bridge, the boat activates the launch program, an arrow with missiles extends from its hull. Inside the transparent rockets, chemicals are seething, producing war gas. Cage, using her last chance, grabs one of the rockets, and then puts her nose in the launch socket. The rocket engines are triggered, and their reactive force pushes the boat down, plunging it into the water. A missile detonating below the surface of the Vltava, destroys the remaining missiles, and the ejected war gas is immediately neutralized by water. Cage, who managed to jump off the boat a second before the explosion, remains alive.

In the finale, Cage and Elena rest on Bora Bora .
