History
In parallel with the production of two-axle diesel locomotives, TGK Kaluga Machine-Building Plant designed and in 1960 began the production of a more powerful and powerful two-axle diesel locomotive, designated as TGK2 (diesel fuel truck of the Aluzhsky plant, type 2 ), designed to work on the ways of industrial enterprises and as a shunting locomotive at railway stations with a maximum weight of a trailer train at a site of up to 700 tons.
The production of these diesel locomotives by the Kaluga plant continued through 2008. A modernized version of the diesel locomotive, TGK2-M , characterized by an increase in diesel engine power and a slightly increased mass of a diesel locomotive, is under construction. Since 1960, more than 9,000 locomotives of the TGK2 series have been produced.
The export version of the locomotive, designated TGK2-E , was supplied to the GDR on the German railways (183 locomotives), to Czechoslovakia to the Czechoslovak railways (55) and to Poland to the Polish State Railways [1] .
Construction
Compared with the previous series (TGK), the body was reconstructed in the new diesel locomotive, the locomotive width was reduced, and cylindrical springs were inserted into the spring suspension system. Bonnet body mounted on a sheet frame. Jaw type axle boxes with roller bearings.
The diesel engine is a six-cylinder four-stroke U1D6-250TK with gas turbine supercharging produced by the Sverdlovsk Turbo-Engine Plant. Power transmission from the motor to the moving axes of a diesel locomotive is carried out through the complex type GTK-II torque converter, a reversible two-speed gearbox, drive shafts and axial gearboxes. The driver's cab and engine room hood - welded construction. The walls of the cab and hood are made with heat and sound insulation. The body is controlled from a double post. Brake locomotive-shoe two-sided with pneumatic and manual drives. To control the brakes of the trailer train, a driver's crane is provided on the locomotive.
The locomotive is equipped with light and sound alarms, a heater for warming up the diesel engine systems before starting in the cold season, pneumatic sandboxes, heating and ventilation in the driver's cab.
