Tomsinov covers such areas as the history of state and law of foreign countries and Russia, the history of domestic and foreign law, the general history of political and legal doctrines, international law and geopolitics. He was engaged in in-depth studies of the political system and legal order of Ancient Egypt , the jurisprudence of Ancient Rome, the influence of the ancient Roman legal culture on the development of the legal culture of Western Europe. He specifically studied the legal aspects of the English Revolution of 1640-1660. and the “ glorious revolution ” of 1688-1689, the constitutional law of Great Britain.
