Biography
David Shore was born on July 3, 1959 in London, Ontario Ave, Canada . David became the only representative of the family in the television business, his two younger brothers, twins Philippe (Ephraim) and Robert, became rabbis.
Before Shore moved to Los Angeles and began working in television, he studied at the University of Toronto and worked as a municipal and corporate lawyer in Canada. He writes the script for the television series "Strictly to the South", which tells about a Canadian equestrian cop that turned out to be in the USA. Next, Shore becomes the producer of the movie "New York Police" ( eng. NYPD Blue ), for which he receives two nominations for an Emmy .
After that, he continues to work on other films that have not had much commercial success compared to his past works. In 2003 , producer Paul Atanasio ( born Paul Attanasio ), who had previously worked with NBC on the film “The Slaughter Department ”, turned to Shore with a proposal to make a series, because he knew that the television network was looking for a movie that would follow the successful “Law and order "and became similar to the successful project CBS " CSI: Crime Scene ". Atanasio's idea was to make a film like a police detective based on the work of doctors. In most of the detective stories, the riddle is higher than the characters, but Shore decided that if he would create a “medical” detective story, he would make the riddle secondary to the hero. That is why he conceived the main character, similar to the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes , but many who know Shor personally, say that the character is similar to the author. This character was Dr. Gregory House, the hero of the series “ Dr. House ”. NBC was not interested in the film, but FOX accepted it, and by the end of the first season the series had become the biggest find of the 2004-05 season. Shore wrote himself and co-authored five episodes of the first season, including the pilot, and the penultimate episode of the Three Stories season, in which the stories of three patients are intertwined in a complex way, and also reveals the cause of Dr. House's limpness and dependence on Vicodin . For writing these episodes, Shore received an Emmy for his Dramatic Series Screenplay.
Shore's directorial debut took place as part of the House series, where he filmed the final episode of the second season of No Cause.
He lives in Encino Hills, California with his wife Judy and three children.
