Boyoma ( Stanley before 1983) is a series of waterfalls on the Lualaba River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo , between the cities of Ubundu and Kisangani . They consist of seven rapids, separated by stretches, at a distance of about 150 km; the total height of the fall is 40 m. The water flow is about 17,000 m³ / s, and by this indicator the waterfalls are included in the Guinness Book of Records [1] . Named after the discoverer Henry Stanley , in 1983 renamed Boyoma.
