He studied under Johann Georg Schürer , in 1765 - 1768 . Together with Franz Seidelman and Johann Gottlieb Naumann, he was sent to Italy for an Elector scholarship, where he studied with Girolamo Pera. In 1773 , he staged in Dresden his first buff opera Fidelity in Love ( Italian: La fedeltà in amore ). In 1774 - 1777 again made a trip to Italy, and in 1776 the first opera of Schuster’s series “Abandoned Dido” ( Italian: La Didone abbandonata ) on the libretto Metastasio was staged in Naples and was a great success, which Schuster developed the following year with the next opera Demofont . Finally, in 1778 - 1781 . Schuster lived and worked in Italy for the third time, after which he almost never left Dresden, heading, together with Seidelman, the court opera house. In addition to operas, Schuster wrote church and chamber music — in particular, he owns string quartets, attributed to Mozart for one and a half centuries (the so-called “Milan Quartets”) —the authorship was established only in 1966 by Ludwig Finscher .
