He studied under Johann Joachim Waxmann and Johann Andreas Seebach in Magdeburg, from 1824 with Karl Friedrich Zelter in Berlin , from 1829 in Italy with Girolamo Cresentini and finally in Dresden with Johann Alois Miks . He worked and taught vocal art in Berlin , published a number of original vocal exercises and solfeggio , as well as vocal exercises by Italian authors - Cresentini , Ambrogio Minoyi , Nicolo Zingarelli and others.
