In Russia, it is best known for the popular compilation History of Music, published originally in 1830 in Edinburgh , then ( 1832 ) translated into French with significant additions by Francois Joseph Feti , and from a French translation translated into Russian by E. Voronov and published in 1838 year with comments and additions by Vladimir Odoevsky .
Stafford also owns "Italy in Pictures: A Complete History of the Past and Present Condition of the Italian States ; 1860 ). Co-authored with naval officer William Frick Williams, he wrote a four-volume “ England’s Battles by Sea and Land; From the Commencement of the Great French Revolution to the Present Time: With a Retrospective View of the Celebrated Epochs of British Military History; Including Our Indian Campaigns, and the Present Expedition Against Russian Aggression in the East ). In addition, Stafford revised the fundamental History of England by David Hume for mid-19th century publications.
