Location
It passes through a gentle floodplain of the right bank of the Sochi River.
History
The street was founded in the late 1950s as the main highway of the microdistrict in the wasteland that made up the airfield of the Sochi airfield . April 20, 1961 was renamed in honor of the first man in the world to fly into space. Gagarinsky Square is located on the street, where Yu. A. Gagarin planted the Himalayan cedar on May 15, 1961 . There is also a bust of the astronaut, set up in 1975 , originally standing opposite the square, near the Rodina cinema, which had been there until 2007 . In 2010 - 2013, a two-level road junction was built at the intersection with Donskaya Street .
