Story
In Russia, the Nightingale the Robber appears, having a very loud whistle with which he can knock people down. Together with his gang, he is robbing peaceful villages. During the next attack on one of these villages, the Nightingale catches and imprisons the young hero Ilya Muromets , but the Prince of Kiev releases the prisoner for 100 coins. Outraged by this, Ilya resigns, and the Prince demands that Ilya leave his beloved horse Burushka. Ilya obeys, but promises Burushka that he will return and redeem him.
Soon, the Nightingale the Robber returns and steals the princely treasury and Burushka. The prince, on the advice of the boyar Antipa, decides to tell Ilya only about the loss of Burushka, hoping that, saving the horse, Ilya will return his treasury at the same time. The Prince persuades Elijah to take him with him. Together with them, a young girl chronicler, Alyonushka, who wants to write a story about Ilya, wants to go camping. However, he refuses to take it. Nevertheless, Alyonushka still goes in the footsteps of Elijah and the Prince - to the forest, where she is captured by a gang of Nightingale. In the forest, Ilya and the Prince remain for the night, and in the morning the Prince discovers that the bandits of the Nightingale seized him and tied him to a tree. Ilya neutralizes the bandits and saves the Prince and Alyonushka.
One of the bandits says that the Nightingale with the stolen went to Constantinople . Having heard about the treasury, Ilya realizes that the Prince wanted to use it for personal purposes, and leaves alone. The prince does not even want to think about him. The prince and Alyonushka get to Constantinople, where the prince wants to ask for help from the emperor of Byzantium Vasileus . Meanwhile, the Nightingale at the entrance to Constantinople loses Burushka in the bones to one merchant. He discovers that Burushka ate all the money from the treasury, after which, after jumping into the sea, he floats away.
The nightingale pursues Burushka, but the merchant stops him, claiming that now it is his horse. Then the Nightingale blows him off and sets off in pursuit of Burushka. Having reached Constantinople, Ilya is also looking for him. Burushka, running to the cry of Ilya, runs through the Vasilevs garden. Seeing how Burushka defecates with gold, Vasilevs thinks that it is a magic horse, and orders to catch it.
Vasilevs is looking for Burushka from a balloon. When he finds him, he discovers Ilya of Muromets and Nightingale the Robber, who are also trying to catch him. The emperor wanted them to get rid of competitors. Soldiers of the emperor catch Burushka, but the Nightingale, with his whistle, begins to lift the soldiers into the air. At that moment, a grandmother approaches him, who recalls the proverb “Do not whistle, there will be no money” and demands that he stop. But the Nightingale does not pay attention to her. Then, with her hook, she knocks out the Nightingale's tooth, because of which he cannot whistle, and the soldiers arrest him. Meanwhile, the Prince and Alyonushka see a pack elephant on which the Prince decides to go succumbing to the persuasion of the drover. However, Alyonushka, realizing that this is a hoax, refuses and remains alone, but soon she is picked up by a local businessman who promises to take Alyonushka to Ilya. Instead, he takes her to Vasilevs as a concubine.
Meanwhile, the Prince rides on an elephant and realizes that the drover vilely deceived him, and the trip is not free. He steals an elephant and accidentally notices Ilya, who saves the Prince, and then drives away the cruel drover. However, he soon with his gang finds Ilya. The hero recalls that he has not touched his native land for a long time, which is why he is weakening, and the bandits grab him and throw him into the pit. The prince fled to the palace of Vasileus, but he was not allowed to go. When the Prince tries to break through, he goes to jail.
Ilya is pulled out of the pit by an elephant, after which Ilya, having found the horseshoe of Burushka, who stepped on her native land, regains strength and, having freed the elephant from the shackles, leaves. He gets to the palace and tries to find out where his companion is. However, the guard recognizes in him the one who tried to catch the imperial horse, and tries to seize him. But Ilya defeats his rivals and finds out where the Prince is. Then, riding an elephant, he storms the prison and rescues a friend, after which he returns to the palace, where at that time Vasilevs picks up the gold that Burushka defecates.
However, soon the gold ends, and Vasilevs begins to interrogate the Nightingale why the horse stopped spewing gold. He lies about the fact that Ilya robbed him and hid all the gold in his Burushka. Vasilevs finds out that the Russians destroyed the prison, and gathers an army to march on Kiev. Caught in front of the palace, riding an elephant, Ilya and the Prince defeat the entire imperial army.
Alyonushka, whom Ilya was unexpectedly glad to see, immediately escapes from the palace, riding on Burushka. However, Vasilevs in desperation asks for help from the arrested Nightingale, and he forces him to insert a gold dental implant in place of the fallen tooth so that he can again whistle. The Nightingale starts to deafeningly whistle at Ilya, but at this moment the superstitious grandmother with a stick appears again, who again knocks out the Nightingale's tooth.
The prince immediately attacks him and demands that the treasury be returned, threatening reprisal. Only after this Vasilevs recognizes the Prince, joyfully meets him and returns the treasury to him. Together with Burushka, the elephant and the treasury, Ilya, the Prince and Alyonushka return to Kiev, where they are met by all the people, and Ilya and Alyonushka fall in love with each other. The prince, meanwhile, admires the chronicle, which was compiled by Alyonushka, but orders to make the so-called “corrections” into it.
