In the times that historically preceded the New Age , anti-sexism found expression in religious forms, but at the present stage it, as a rule, is found in the form of a completely secular manifestation of will aimed at reforming society . Most antisexual people are convinced that sexuality is a kind of addiction (like alcohol , drugs , etc.), which leads to negative consequences on both physical and social levels; leading to gaps in human relationships, forcing people to resort to lies and deception to achieve sexual satisfaction and related pleasures. An antisexual who refuses sex life is considered abstaining from sex for certain reasons, but is not necessarily characterized by asexuality . Some antisexuals are convinced that sexuality is the cause of many global problems .

The anti-sex movement is a movement in which people unite in groups to support one another, discuss anti-sex issues and promote it as a way of life . It should be noted once again: anti-sexes do not have to be asexuals, the grounds for their anti-sexuality come from rational argumentation or the morality they adhere to.

Sociologists note that the majority of anti-sexes are students and young clerks. Why is it that educated people refuse to have sex - the color and future of the nation?

• Sexuality as such does not make sense because it is unnecessarily complicated for its functions: a variety of orientations , quirks, fetishes and especially deviations recognized as destructive (such as sadism , pedophilia , dangerous sex) create an impression of human sexuality, as too confusing for practical purposes.
• Sexuality provokes inadequate (hostile) perception of those people who do not look sexually attractive .

In addition, the following can be noted:

• Some antisexuals do not distinguish between voluntary and forced sexual intercourse, considering sex to be a means of suppressing the personality and a method of psychological manipulation , playing on the weaknesses of the psyche of the sexual partner.
• Some antisexuals see a connection between uncontrolled reproductive behavior, depletion of resources and environmental degradation, that is, in one sense or another, oppose an increase in the population of the Earth .
• Some antisexuals express the view that motherhood as an ideological construct is used as a means to suppress and subjugate a woman. This argument is also used by advocates of celibacy, and for a number of antisexuals is one of the grounds for sharing the beliefs of childfree .

The leader of Russian antisexuals, Yuriy Nesterenko , answered a question from a newspaper correspondent about the reasons for rejection of sex and said that he considered sexual desire as an addictive disorder :
