Reasons to award
The medal “In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg ” is awarded to:
- participants of the defense of Leningrad, awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad" ;
- citizens awarded the sign "Resident of the besieged Leningrad" ;
- home front workers who worked during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the city of Leningrad and were awarded state awards;
- citizens awarded the medal "In memory of the 250th anniversary of Leningrad" ;
- citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of St. Petersburg ;

The medal "In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg" is worn on the left side of the chest and is located after the medal "For Merit in the All-Russian Population Census" . [2]
Medal Description
The medal “In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg” - made of brass , has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 32 mm
On the front side of the coin is a profile portrait image of Peter the Great , crowned with a laurel wreath. On the circumference of the medal there is an inscription: “In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg”.
On the reverse side of the coin, in the center, is a vertically placed scepter superimposed on two crossed anchors - sea and river, along the edges of the coin - the numbers " 1703 " and "2003". All images and numbers on the medal are embossed.
The medal is connected with an eye and a ring to a pentagonal block covered with silk moire ribbon. The width of the tape is 24 mm. The tape is red in color, with two white stripes at the edges, each 1 mm wide. Along the middle line of the ribbon is an image of the ribbon of the medal “For the Defense of Leningrad” 8 mm wide. [2]
The author of the design of the award is the artist Evgeny Ukhnalev .
